the song is up!!!!!
thanks, DENISE for your help on this! :)
i am very happy but there are 2 small problems...
1. the playlist box is very ugly and its too big.
2. the song is so lag.
i'll totally understand if nothing can be done to beautify the box but surely there has got to be a way to make it smaller so tt it doesn't block my text.
bleh!
anyone?!

Testify to love

all the colours of the rainbow
all the voices of the wind
every dream that reaches out
it reaches out to find when love begins
every word of every story
every star in every sky
every corner of creation lives to testify

for as long as i shall live
i will testify to love
i'll be a witness in the silences where words are not enough
with every breath i take
i will give thanks to God above
for as long as i shall live
i will testify to love

from the mountains to the valleys
from the rivers to the seas
every hand that reaches out
every hand that reaches out to offer peace
every simple act of mercy
every step to kingdom come
all the hope in every heart will speak what love has done

this song has been on repeat mode since i got the cd.
its a super old song..
its beautiful.
someone teach me how to include the song in my blog!
i did it before but i can't rmb how its done.
heh..

my family..
the xu family comprises of my mum and dad and irritating but much loved brother.
these people have stood by me throughout my 21 odd years on this earth.
but sadly, these are the people whom i've neglected and often misunderstood.

as a child, i remember feeling ashamed of my parents because of the 'embarrassing' things they did.
when i was in seconday 2, i failed my art mid-year exam.
i wasn't too concerned at first because no one gives two hoots about art.
no one, but my parents.
they were enraged because you see..my dad was an artist, and so were my 2 uncles and late grandfather.
and so they were really jumping high and low when they saw tt glaring 'F' in my report book.
this was a major disgrace to the xu family.
and so, to my horror, my mum stomped to my school the very next day and demanded to see my art teacher.
and for the next 2 hours, she reprimanded him on his teaching method and the 'unfair' grading system.
because to her, it was impossible for an artist's daughter to fail art.
when she returned home, i was furious and refused to speak to her for the rest of the day.
i was embarrassed to the max!
pimples and weight problems were already affecting my self-esteem and now this!
i felt tt i could not face my art teacher ever again.

and then, there was the famous 'missing person' incident.
on tt fateful day, i had promised my mum tt i'll be home for lunch.
as school ended early, i headed to the library to read (reading was and still is my fav past time)
and so it was tt as i was reading, i fell asleep.
it was already 2pm when i woke up.
so i hurried home only to be greeted by an extremely worried mum whose first sentence was "where have you been?! your dad went to look for you at school and is now in the principal's office. we were deciding whether to call the police to search for you."
i was dumbfounded.
i knew i was late but did the 2 hours tt i was 'missing' warrent such an extensive search?
i stamped my feet and accused them of 'embarrassing' me yet again!

now tt i'm older, i've grown to appreciate the 'embarrassing' things that they did because i know tt it was love that fueled their actions.
if my mum had not confronted my art teacher, i would'nt have gotten an 'A' for art in the final exam that very year.
and yes, i realize that the 'overeaction' was the product of their love and concern for me.

my heart just bubbles with love whenever i think of all the big and little things that my parents have done for me.
i am 22 dis yr and both my parents are approaching 60.
there are many more grey hairs in their heads now and wrinkles crease their faces when they smile.
i recognize the signs of aging and know that the end of the aging process is seperation.
i fear...and refuse to believe...and am unable to accept the fact tt God may take them away from me one day.
i fear tt this day will come soon.
recently, i dreamt tt my mum was taken away from me and i was at her funeral.
i woke up bathed in cold sweat and could not stop crying for the next half hr.
oh God...please, keep my beloved parents in good health.
let them live out their golden years happy and disease free.
oh God...please, do not call them back anytime soon.
i know tt this request is selfish but i am afraid.
afraid of the inevitable.

the second official entry since i resurrected the lifeless blog.
this blogging thing is quite delightful after all..
so many memories captured in one website. amazing!
i just love reading through archives of blogs including my own of course, to see how much people have changed and progressed.

so yes, today me+ben+den+ting+zw+kel went to the night safari for our 1st outing of the year.
needless to say, the company, animals and novelty made the night really enjoyable.
these people in particular, the girls, re-defined friendship for me.
i know i can be myself when i am around them.
i don't haf to be flaky, or entertaining, or rich, or accomplished.
i just have to be Xu Bin and I am loved for being me.
this coming mon marks a start of a new chapter for them and i'm excited to see wat lies ahead..!!!
one thing is for sure though..
its going to be BIG and GREAT!! :) :) :)
